One of the most powerful features of WP Ultimo is the support to custom domains. Making use of that feature, you can offer your customers the option of mapping domains that they own to their sites – a requirement that is usually a must in most Website as a Service platforms (not always that useful in SaaS contexts).
Unfortunately, domain mapping is one of the few WP Ultimo features that are heavily dependent on the server stack to work properly, mostly due to the different ways Hosting Providers deal with domain addition, Apache and NGIX configuration files, and auto-SSL, if available.
We’ve done our best to abstract away domain mapping and offer it in a way that just works in most of the cases. Understanding why it can be tricky sometimes – even if you are not experiencing problems yourself – is always useful.
